Two risks to your data to start with…
BBC – Countdown for nasty Windows virus: PC users have been urged to scan their computers before 3 February to avoid falling victim to a destructive virus. On that date the Nyxem virus is set to delete Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Acrobat files on infected machines. .
The Register – Google’s data minefield
And a quick round of politics, starting with…
[Picture] – Tony Blair takes a lung function test. I know what you’re thinking, and it’s rude and you should stop it.
Speaking of rude…
The Scum – Gay MP hangs around loos: GAY MP Simon Hughes has his name on a plaque at public toilets he opened in his constituency. He performed the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at the lavs in Elephant and Castle, South London… The “facilities” are even painted in Lib-Dem yellow.
Are you getting the key messages here? All Lib-Dems are gay, for a start (smoke and fire, people)… and all gayers are pervs who hang around public lavs. Where, no doubt, they arouse the curiosity of local schoolboys. Subtle, isn’t it?
Moving right along…
Hamas:
Boy, this democracy in the Middle East stuff gets pretty tricky sometimes.
Jean Charles de Menezes:
Chicken Yoghurt says it best. The public has the (human) right to safe streets.
Iraq:
There is nothing new here, and/or someone is just trying to sell a book. Try to remain calm…
Observer – Revealed: US dirty tricks to win vote on Iraq war
Sunday Herald – America tore out 8000 pages of Iraq dossier
Oh, and this is just a statistic….
BBC – UK forces suffer 100th Iraq death
Meanwhile, the world prepares themselves for the upcoming State of the Union address. Now what could possibly make an excellent focus to take American minds off the actual state of their union?
BBC – Iran warns West over nuclear row: Any move to involve the UN Security Council in the row over Iran’s nuclear programme would mean the end of diplomacy, a top Iranian official says.
Guardian – The west has picked a fight with Iran that it cannot win
He’s wrong. Y’see, there are people who advise George W. Bush that have a very different idea of what counts as a ‘win’.
