BBC – Arabic T-shirt sparks airport row: An architect of Iraqi descent has said he was forced to remove a T-shirt that bore the words “We will not be silent” before boarding a flight at New York. Raed Jarrar said security officials warned him his clothing was offensive after he checked in for a JetBlue flight to California on 12 August. (via)

Still, it could be worse. So far, only the public and a few foreign jobsworths appear to have been infected with the hysteria virus… you really shouldn’t start to worry until representatives of local law enforcement catch the bug. Then you have to watch out for bombs and bullets.

I’m gonna get some t-shirts made saying “George Bush and Tony Blair are complete cunts” – anyone going to the US soon?

Shame on you, Merk! Where is your common sense? In most cases, you’ll be asked to turn the t-shirt inside-out, so it’s best to have ‘Blair is a cock’ printed on the outside… and ‘Bush is a cunt’ printed on the inside.:o)

I was in Walt Disney World in January and one of the friends I was with had taken part in a race called “Hell Runner”. One of the security guards, or whatever they call themselves, came up to him and suggested that he might want to turn the t shirt he was wearing inside out, due to the fact that it had the phrase “I kicked the Devil’s Ass” on the back. It wasn’t the “Hell” or “Devil” that they didn’t like, it was the word “Ass”, which the guard didn’t say. He spelt it out.
