Having seen this recent post on the subject of conduct over at Harry’s Place, I thought that this blast from the past deserved a mention.

It's a genuine pity Robin is no longer online. I really liked reading him.As for Harry's Place, most of thier content is in keeping with other UK neocons. Like many of the others they lack the integrity to come out of the closet. A few years ago John Kampfner did a nice article listing the prominent British neocons, it's time someone updated his assessment to include some of the bloggers. I would love to do some work on it's effect on the UK blogosphere myself but I'm strapped for time. The term Neocon has been used in a very lazy manner and most people don't realise that the neocons originated from the Left:-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neocon

I think Craig Murray's summarization of Nick Cohen's latest book nicely sums up the position of the British neocons:"If you are against eating Muslim babies, you are a supporter of Islamofascism. If you are perturbed by Guantanamo Bay, you would not have fought in the Spanish Civil War, are probably a fan of Hitler and have no right to call yourself a Liberal. Neo-Conservatism is the New Left."
