So first we have this:
Nadine Dorries – Clarification
Posted Thursday, 21 May 2009 at 11:12I’ve finished going through all my receipts and thought I had better make some things crystal clear:
I do NOT own a home in South Africa.
I do NOT own a home from which I receive a rental income.
And then we have this:
Nadine Dorries’ Register of Members’ Interests
Listed as current as at 20 May 2009DORRIES, Nadine (Mid Bedfordshire)
8. Land and Property
House in Gloucestershire, from which rental income is received.
Holiday home in South Africa.
Which claim is true? They can’t both be true, surely?
Hat-tip to spotter Chris, who also notes; “(this is) what the MP submitted in November 2005 and which has never been changed”

Maybe she just couldn’t find it among her receipts. Easily done.

You know, I once lost an entire studio apartment that way; I accidentally threw it out with some old bus tickets.

Mind you Nadine did say on the 17th May:"Have an article on me today which is just a joke. I haven't owned a holiday home in South Africa or owned a home in the Cotswolds since marriage split. As I have said over and over, I rent two homes. They probably got that information from the register which I probably havent up-dated but they really should have just asked me, they phone often enough!"I assume she should have updated the register by now.

It was current as of yesterday (20th). I'll check it again tomorrow… unless somebody beats me to it!(Bit of drama there, kids. Did you like that?)Wireman had this to say this afternoon:"Last time Dorries' register entry was amended was between 19/06/07 and 03/07/07. The houses weren't removed."http://twitter.com/Wireman/status/1872954145Nadine had *this* to say this afternoon:"Where do I get this from? Well, at heart I am just a cheeky scouser. I like to go into the rooms of the faceless and nameless in Parliament, sit on their desk and ask pertinent questions like: who are you? What do you do? I've made friends with one or two. One in particular I am very fond of. He is a mine of very astute information; and whilst in his office yesterday, we chunnered over the 'what is this all about?' question. He reckons this is all a power game. That the British public are being worked like puppets by two very powerful men. Whipped up into a frenzy to achieve exactly what they want. His very poignant words to me were 'if any of this conjecture is true, Parliament will become full of racists, fantasists, and has-been celebrities'"http://blog.dorries.org/Blogs/2009/May/21#21

I loved this one, in defence of Speaker Martin:"Will there ever again be any respect for tradition and heritage? For the procedures enshrined in stone, brought about by Cromwell and abided by since? Will the Queen be next?"Where do you start with something like that?

Actually the other person may own a home in South Africa through other person's name/address. Isn't possible?

You can't expect a busy single mum to have found the time in the last two years to update the register of interests. She's had roots to dye, for God's sake…It's all just payback for Smeargate. It must be true because she says so herself:http://www.bedfordtoday.co.uk/bed-news/MPs39-expe…

I like how she's now totally distancing herself from any form on responsibility:"The system has been wrong and scandalous. But everyone in the media and political world, other than those MPs like me who came in after 2005 knew about it. Therefore they are all culpable."They? THEY are all culpable? Some lovely squirming from her, playing the 'honesty' card for all it's worth.
