Guardian – Blair pledges crackdown on yobs: In the first press conference of his third term, the prime minister promised white papers on health and education modernisation by the autumn, and a major speech on “respect in society” within weeks.
1. War on yobs had to be on Murdoch’s wish-list
2. Respect? Like showing respect for Iraqis by keeping track of how many civilians were shot or blown up? Like showing respect for our soldiers by visiting the wounded in hospital (or maybe writing a letter as nice as the one he rushed out Ozzy Osbourne when he fell off his quadbike)? Perhaps he’s referring to something as far-fetched as respect for the law. Or respect for the rights and dignity of other human beings (which means you shouldn’t throw eggs at their house or boil them alive).
4. Personally, I can’t think of a better way of fostering a culture of respect than by reinstating David Blunkett after a few short months… and then putting him in charge of Child Support.

I’m glad to see the campaign continues despite Blair winning a ‘historic’ third term. Black Death and The Plague were historic too.The most worrying thing that Blair now has to say (in your link) is this: I have no intention whatever of abolishing our opt-out.” He called the MEPs’ vote “wrong and misguided. So, as well as having to work until we die, we now have to work until we drop, because Blair says so. The thing is, we voted for those MEPs who made that decision. They have every bit as much right to govern us as Blair does, with his reluctant support by 22% of the population.Blair needs stopping and he needs stopping now, and anyone who has every actively supported the Labour movement (like me) has a duty to stop him.On a less serious note, in view of the Scum Stud story, I think you should provide a Two Peas and a Maggot award to anyone who can provide documentary evidence that the article was false.

Almost there Tim.. but couldnt you have made a connection between Galloway in his finest hour and Blair at his lowest ebb.. like “New Lib Dem Tory Lab. Respect! Or Else!orBlair hijacks another word!http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4554829.stmThis guy’s facing extradition, torture and execution for supporting his cause through “websites”.. you may be one day..so why the reluctance to show support for GG even though he trumped BB?I think we should be told.
