This man was arrested and taken into police custody on August 1st 2005 during a protest in Parliament Square, London. No one present at that protest has reported seeing him or hearing from him since he was bundled into a police van and taken away. Police now claim to have no knowledge or record of this man, or of his arrest.
Okay, gang. Let’s, like, split up and search for clues.

Done. I like Indymedia’s description of the person who pointed out the map copyright problems as ‘one bright spark’! Wouldn’t that be your good self?

http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2006/01/331285.html“the arresting officers were all deployed from forest gate station and some were instructed to walk through the crowd and warn people that they may be committing an offence liable to arrest under the new act. they were also were handing out leaflets stating the same, and on the reverse of these leaflets were maps of the designated area around parliament. apparently one bright spark asked whether copyright permission had been sought for use of this map, and later officers were refusing to hand out leaflets as they had been withdrawn on copyright issues. despite this, it remains clear that quite a few sheets were handed out, and many of the protesters had been warned.”Heh. Yes, guilty.

Yikes! I don’t know where the guy is right now, or what happened to him after he was arrested, but I bet you anything that if we took off those sunglasses and peeled off his rubber mask, it would turn out to be none other than…Mr. Jones from the amusement arcade! http://www.spiegel.de/img/0,1020,275992,00.jpg

Jinkies!

I was close by as he got arrested and I will say this, he really, really resisted arrest and shouted a lot of swear words as he was dragged off.Now if he was an experienced campaigner he’d know not to make a sound or a noise so as not to resist arrest or be done for other offences.I’m not sure if he was a plant but something ain’t right…

My gut instincts are in line with yours. Totally.

Oh, and it’s early days and in no way a certainty, but he’s a dead-ringer for Det Sgt John Pickersgill:http://www.met.police.uk/job/job947/live_files/6.htm:o)

Templated (along with the other ones, which I’ll likely redo at some point).Assume your bandwidth limit doesn’t mind all the remote linking, if it ever does, I have a spare domain I’m not using for much so can switch storage of the image if’n you want.Wasn’t there, but it does look a little suspect, especially given the MPs weren’t arrested despite obviously taking part. Ah well.
