Ready to download?

The CCTV (or whoever they are) have run out of time. Download options will be with you shortly.

UPDATE – Atomic batteries to power… turbines to speed…

Matt Wardman is kindly hosting versions of the video that he downloaded, plus some MP4 options from my download:

Instructions:

1. Download anything you think you will need to keep a copy for your own records and/or upload a fresh copy at a new location:

Matt Wardman – Sexual Orientation Regulations: Archive of CCTV Demo Promotional Video

2. But please don’t host the videos anywhere else just yet… check in by email first:

manic AT bloggerheads DOT com

3. Then await your instructions. We’re going to get co-ordinated, oh yes we are.

Cheers all.

(PS – I’m feeling surprisingly relaxed about the removal of the parody… the original is ridiculous enough. Still, I may jump through YouTube’s hoops at a later date purely as a matter of principle.)

Iain Dale has some funny ideas about moderation

Recently, Iain Dale declared that; “If people abuse the hospitality or insult other users their comments will be deleted without explanation.”

However, it soon became clear that what he really meant was; “If people abuse the hospitality or insult any other users (apart from Tim Ireland or anyone else who dares to question my credibility) their comments will be deleted without explanation.”

Now he’s banging on at me about me going ‘off-topic’ and ‘hijacking’ threads when all I’ve been doing is responding to material that he himself has published and/or pressing him for answers to challenges or questions that he has abandoned in other threads (this thread is an excellent example of the latter).

This afternoon, under this post, he made the following comment:

Iain Dale said…

Right, all comments by Tim Ireland posted on this thread which bear no relation to the topic under discussion are about to be deleted. All associated comments by Dizzy and anyone else are also going to be deleted.

This is the second time in a few days that Tim Ireland has hijacked a blog thread.

He won’t be doing it again. If he continues to post comments on this blog which have nothing to do with the topic under discussion he can expect them to be deleted.

1:05 PM

I responded with the following, which he immediately deleted (please excuse the third-person, which is essential to this particular exercise):

Guido 2.0 said…

Iain, Manic has already pointed out that only one comment of his in this thread could be described as taking the thread off-topic, and he had good reason to make it. It should also be noted that you left the relevant question unanswered.

The rest, you are responsible for. You either published and retained the diversions or made them yourself. Manic is not to blame.

Neither is Manic to blame for posting ‘off-topic’ material that you yourself requested!!!!

Your exact words were: “Carry on like that Mr Ireland and I will publish the email you sent Guido and me last night – presumably after a long session down the Dog & Duck – which shows you up for what you are. Or feel free to publish it here yourself.”
(Psst! Manic will republish said email on Guido 2.0 later today… just for you.)

Also, Manic is not to blame for multiple ‘hijacks’ as you claim. Your presentation of this as some form of moderation landmark is extremely dishonest.

Take this thread for example. How does this count as a hijack when your post included prominent use of an image that you stole from Manic – *again* – after being clearly told that you were not allowed to use his photoshopped images? Manic’s content formed a significant percentage of your post… surely he had a right to respond to that post?

Also, not only is there a wider point that covers your conduct as a blogger in general (and keeps coming up thanks to your repeated examples of mendacity and hypocrisy), but any diversion from the topic aside from this has involved a question that you have left answered under another post before attempting to bury it with a flurry of new posts.

If you simply gave a direct and honest answer to a few pertinent questions (that, again, usually result from comments made or published by your good self) this would be far less of a problem. Note also that these questions are not great in number… they just seem that way because you force Manic to repeat them!

PS – Manic reserves the right to respond in any thread where you have knowingly published and retained an insulting or derogatory comment about him from yourself or one of your anonymous bullies… as you did in this thread. All you have to do to avoid this is follow your stated moderation policy… without your usual OTT show of faux-concern for Manic’s feelings that is itself a deliberate attempt to insult. FFS, it’s not rocket-science, and Manic is not asking for anything in this instance that you yourself have not promised to all of your readers.

1:49 PM

I then responded with this, which he also deleted:

Guido 2.0 said…

How is a direct reponse to the comment of the author of this weblog ‘going off-topic’, Iain? You brought it up.

2:05 PM

So when Iain Dale says; “If (Tim Ireland) continues to post comments on this blog which have nothing to do with the topic under discussion he can expect them to be deleted.”

What he really means; “If (Tim Ireland) provides any response to topics that I myself bring up, he can expect them to be deleted.”

Mendacious. Hypocrite.

That is all.

Teh Removal

As expected, the (alleged) originators of the ‘teaching kids to be gay’ video went direct to YouTube, who folded faster than Robert Lang on speed (for reasons that should be obvious).

YouTube even removed a clear example of parody covered under ‘fair use’.

There are hoops to jump through on the latter that I was not expecting, but – for the original – I have this statement prepared:

The way in which the original was presented and released makes me doubt the veracity of any anonymous (!) claim to copyright; the ‘live’ segment in the middle could very well have been lifted from an unknown third party. (In fact, there are many who still believe that this section of the video was made by Chris Morris.)

I have the original saved to disk, and I will be passing out copies 24 hours from now for hosting at any location the recipients deem proper.

If the (alleged) original producers wish to get in touch and prove ownership to my satisfaction before this happens, they have a full day to do so.

UPDATE – You can now download a copy of this grubby piece of propaganda here.

I have noticed you have re-posted a video which I have removed, citing it as ‘public domain’. However, the copyright belongs to me and so I would appreciate it if you removed the video.
You have also used our footage within another video, again breaching my copyright.

You are an anonymous user of YouTube, and the live section of the clip could very well be a production you have lifted/adopted for your purposes.

You need to prove that you are the owner of the clip… that initially requires you to state who produced it and then prove that you are that person and/or that you represent the relevant organisation.

This quote from ‘a real gay’ still tickles me. I make no apologies.

The CCTV and that ‘teaching kids to be gay’ video: an archive for the ages

On March 18 2007, an organisation known as The Christian Congress for Traditional Values (aka ‘The CCTV’) launched their own YouTube channel.

On March 19 2007, they uploaded two videos of media coverage relating to their concerns over Sexual Orientation Regulations, and a third showing the role The CCTV played in the Jerry Springer: The Opera protests.

(Regulars may note that the JS:TO affair has much in common with this one, particularly the dishonest way in which the case has been presented, and use of the Daily Mail as a key propaganda device.)

On March 18 2007 the account campaign2007 was also created and a video entitled What The Government Doesn’t Want You To Know, expressing concern over what might happen should the Sexual Orientation Regulations pass into law. This, like the CCTV videos above, was uploaded on March 19 2007, and made available to the public at this URL:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnjpgw91CXQ

It was then removed by the owner of that account on March 22 2007.

As no-one is publicly claiming ownership of this film, I’m operating on the assumption that it is in the public domain until told otherwise. A mirror has been uploaded to YouTube at this location:

What The Government Doesn’t Want You To Know (ARCHIVE)

(A full transcript of the video is available here should that mirror be removed.)

On the evening of March 19 2007 a post was made to Usenet promoting the video by a new user (with the email address campaign2007a@googlemail.com). The headers show that this post originated from the IP address 80.42.230.184 (a Tiscali user, so the location given – ‘London’ – is not a reliable one).

On the website of The CCTV, the video was promoted on this page using a message ‘from an un-named source’. That message was removed today (March 23 2007) and replaced with a simple link to a slideshow of the related protest. The text from the original version of that page appears below:

Find out what the government doesn’t want you to know
From an un-named source

Find out what the government doesn’t want you to know: see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnjpgw91CXQ

From this coming Wednesday it will be law that ALL children in ALL schools MUST be taught about homosexual sex and relationships, using explicit material. That includes YOUR CHILDREN and those of your friends, no matter what their age.

TELL EVERYONE IMMEDIATELY THAT THERE’S STILL TIME TO PROTEST.

This Government has secretly manipulated the parliamentary process to pass THE SEXUAL ORIENTATION REGULATIONS which will FORCE YOU to accept gay sex education for your children and, even more incredibly, will likely criminalise you if you ever say anything that a homosexual feels is insulting. You no longer have the right to bring up your children as you want to, or to disagree with homosexuals about their agenda and lifestyle choices.

If you are FED UP of being insulted by homosexuals as being “homophobic,” “bigoted,” and equivalent to a racist, just because you don’t agree that children should be taught about gay sex and relationships, then be at PARLIAMENT SQUARE AT 12 NOON this coming WEDNESDAY 21ST MARCH for 1 hour.

This is a peaceful but determined demonstration by ordinary people who don’t agree with the homosexual agenda to abolish the family and criminalise 99% of the population.

We’re running out of time – PASS THIS ON, let’s make sure everyone knows what the government is up to.

In the blogosphere, the video gained far more attention from those who objected to it than those who supported it (and some of the few weblogs that did support it can be seen here, here and here).

Despite this, very few critical comments appear to have been cleared for publication under the original video. Additionally, some negative comments were published, then later deleted. I myself made two unsuccessful attempts to have a measured response published, and other YouTube users reported similar censorship of their comments.

There were also a surprising number of comments in support of the video (and subscriptions to the related channel) from brand new users of YouTube. Either a bunch of right-wing ‘Christians’ signed up immediately to voice their approval (some of them on the day before the video went public), OR we are looking at sock-puppeting/astro-turfing on a grand scale. I’m inclined to think the latter.

Of course, when the film was withdrawn, all comments were removed with it.

(One YouTube regular who posted a response to the original video also noticed that comments were removed/disabled from the CCTV collection of videos at roughly the same time.)

An archive of the comments that appeared under the original video appears below. Comments are in sequential order, with the oldest comment at top. Recent members have been highlighted, and replies to existing comments have been indented.

Finally someone is standing up against the homosexual agenda! I do not believe in discrimination, but we shouldn’t be forced to teach our children things we don’t agree with.
It’s just shocking and appalling that the government wants to force this type of education into EVERY school!!!

I will be at the protest!

philipwhealy: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left one comment in this thread.]

I can’t believe someone actually had the courage to say what’s simply true and wasn’t afraid of the vicious insults and personal attacks he’s likely to suffer from homosexuals. This video is factual, not “homophobic” and it’s time that gay thought control stops.
I will definitely be at the peaceful protest in London.

LeGroomeD: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left three comments in this thread.]

This law is disgusting. It’s bad enough that the Government is recommending reading books like “Daddy’s Roomate” and “Strange Boy”, which promote underage gay sex, but to make teaching it to primary school kids law is a whole new level of horrific.
I’ll definitely be at the protest.

smithybags: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left one comment in this thread.]

I’m sick and tired of this grubby little government pushing through their perversions on the sly. You can’t tell me that scheduling this for Budget-Day is a mere coincidence. Remember what happened last time Tony when you deemed it a ‘good day to bury bad news?’
Well I’m not going to sit idly by while you destroy the kids – see you Wednesday!

When I wrote to the MP’s to make them aware of this, this is the reply I got from Alan Simpson MP’s office:

“Dear Dries **,

You disgust me. You are so totally and utterly out of touch with the real world that it is no surprise to me the Christian faith is fizzling out to nothing in the UK. Perhaps when we have managed to turn all our children gay the problem of religious bigotry affecting our laws will no longer be an issue.”

Well done to the film makers here. This is startling and sobering and I will make sure I’m at this demonstration on Wednesday. I think homosexuals can live how they like but have no right to insult the other 99% of the population with bigoted rhetoric or force their agenda for a sexual revolution on us and our children.

agrazi77: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left three comments in this thread.]

Everytime I watch this I can’t help feeling sick… if this video becomes reality – in fact THIS IT IS REALITY in some schools… did you know that the average age that a homosexual lives to is around 39!!!! why should we sentence our children to the death in the classroom with our own education?!?!
WAKE UP!

Sweepster9: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left two comments in this thread.]

I am a parent and am horrified that this could be taught to my 6 year old son. How can a minority group of less than .5% of the population dictate what should be taught to my child? It is the loving parent who is being persecuted here – not the gay. We must stand up and oppose the SOR before it is too late. See you on Wednesday at 12:00.

ijj1086: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left one comment in this thread.]

I find it horrifying to think that my children could be taught in school that a gay lifestyle is as normal and acceptable as a heterosexual one, when i believe it to be morally wrong. I believe we should all have the right to teach our children according to our own beliefs, not according to what the government says our beliefs should be. I’ll definitely be at the protest on Wednesday!

How can you put in a few words the feelings you have by watching such a video. Are teachers taking any steps to avoid presenting these subjects to their young pupils? Anyone involved with young lives, and acknowledges that these issues will confuse young minds, must surely stand up and decide to omit it from their classes. Where is our nation going? God deliver us.

If this corrupt government passes this bill our children could be forced to learn about lifestyles (or should I say ‘deathstyles’) that are opposing God’s law. We cannot stand by and watch this happen, our children are far too precious. I have a daughter, it’s her 4th birthday on Wednesday — We will both be at Parliament Square Midday — Will you?

Hi thanks for your support we really appreciate it! We are not going for an anti gay march at the end of the day but to protect our children. Having worked with schools extensively there is an extremely small minority of gay children and we feel that education of this type will rather be used by paedophiles to groom children. Despite what other gays are doing you need to help us stand against this…

Aptitude: [Joined YouTube on August 14 2006 and left one comment in this thread.]

Unfortunate but we in the UK r subject & have been 4 a number of years to a form of grooming by new labour & the BBC into accepting modes of behaviour & values that years ago we would not have entertained. It is impossible to fight against this form of manipulation as to do so opens one up to vilification. The truth is we r led & educated by people who have no true values & r very often screwed up mentally thinking how our behaviour can be changed not to our benefit but more to theirs, grooming.

He’s watched this film and said it’s all true – he even found the regulations on the internet for me. I cannot get my head around how corrupt this government is – what’s next? The way i see it, soon enough, paedophilia will simply be “another form of love” with the way this sick and twisted government is leading us.

You will certainly see me at the rally.

I was totally shocked by this video. To be honest, I felt physically sick watching it – the thought that homosexual activities such as this will be promoted to children as young as 5 & 6 is just vile! I’m sick and tired of being called a homosexual bigot simply because I want to bring my children a certain way. Why is it homosexuals can disagree with our way of life and not accept another opinion – but when we disagree with their “lifestyle” we’re labelled “bigots”! I’m sick of it!!

You have (probably deliberately) told blatant lies about the proposals. Prove me wrong, post evidence that the bill will cause teachers to announce that “families are wrong” Tell me, did incidents of homosexual behaviour increase after Larry Grayson got The Generation Game gig? If not, then can you see that the idea of children being indoctrinated into homosexual behaviour is equally as valid as the theory that watching Teletubbies makes them grow antennas?

Want to see what the gay rights lobby thinks about the family? – doa search in Google for “gay liberation front manifesto” – a creed most decent people will find pretty offensive, but one that Stonewall and friends have spent the last 30 years trying to implement. This is a hateful and misinformed video. It is absoloutely ridiculous. It is paranoid and an extreme caricature. The proposed regulations are about equality and the provision of goods and services. It’s being rushed through parliament because there’s no real debate. No teacher would tell children that they’re not normal for being homophobic.

They’ll become what they want to be, in their own time, through their own experiments.

I love the part they ‘bash’ the gay side. “two daddies, or ten daddies”, “two mummies, or lots of mummies” — Like any gay parent is going to have a huge orgy in front of their child.

Too many of you are failing to see the truth, and you’re simply believing on blind faith whatever is being fed to you. Utter rubbish, they do not teach this stuff about heterosexual relationships in schools. I don’t think my niece who is of the age range you showcase (and lets face it, it is a showcase) should be taught about sex in any form, be it heterosexual or homosexual. If I found that she was being told by a teacher to “experiment” with someone I would hit the roof. The one thing you forget is that children talk, its the bliss that is childish ignorance. Your video is grossly mis-informed.

dwal060: [Joined YouTube on February 09 2007 and left one comment in this thread.]

I think that was one of the most assinine pieces of video I’ve ever seen. No one teaches heterosexual kids how to experiment with one another and “discover” their sexuality when they’re 5, why would they suddenly do it now? The point is to treat homosexual and heterosexual families with the same amount of respect, not suddenly turn everything into a sex-frenzy. That video was just way over the top and shouldn’t be taken seriously at all, that just won’t happen.

I can see very clearly what the film makers are trying to achieve. It is a fight to preserve the innocence of our children.

At this age they should not be taught about heterosexual sex and certainly not about gay sex either. The scary thing is that books about gay activities are already available to 5 year olds in some schools and this video will soon becoming a reality.

Well done on raising awareness on this very important issue.

Are all you people from England really that stupid? Do you really think any governing body in England or in the world, would pass legislation that tells young children to experiment with each other to determine their sexuality? If you believe this then I have a great make money at home idea for you to purchase from me.(Hey PT Barnum said it best) Besides, as a young person I didn’t need to experiment with anyone else, male or female, to know that I was gay.

Scaremongering, bigoted, untrue nonsense. Talk about getting the wrong end of the stick

This is not the wrong end of the stick, this is reality.

This is obviously what COULD happen if a teacher would wish so, not everywhere. Either way, after this law is past, it will be illegal for parents to say that they do not want this taught to their children. The Bill therefore clearly goes against any democratic freedoms!

The JCHR report states in paragraph 67: “We welcome the Government’s acceptance that [the Regulations] should apply to all schools [.] without any exemption for particular types of school such as faith schools”

This cant be real, it would of been all over tv and the newspapers by now. But even if it is real…6 is too young. To explain sexuality to kids they need to understand the scientific and social factors surrounding it. And i do not believe a 6 year old can undertsand that.

I would be eager also to read what you wrote to your MP in the initial letter.

It was just a factual e-mail, sent to EVERY single MP, but he was the only one being so hostile about.

What a load of mis-informed, scaremongering crap. The “enactment” is just a far-fetched scenario that would never happen. Nobody is suggesting teaching kids that “everyone is bisexual”, nor indeed about the act of sex itself. The object is to make children aware of alternative lifestyles. To teach them that there is no reason to fear or ridicule those who are different from themselves. A lesson that the makers of this film would do well to learn.

Congratulations to the film makers – see you Wednesday.

Britain became Great because of the strong moral values exhibited over the ages. Imagine Xtianity without the King James Bible?. Allowing the SOR to be passed into law means Britain will end up as SODOM and GOMORRAH! Remember the end results? Total Destruction !(Biblical and historical facts confirms this). Our Children, grandchildren and generations unborn will never forgive us if we do not stand against wickedness.

school should not be teaching about gay or bi sexual relationships. they never taught about straight relationships, theres no place for it in school.

You people are delusional. That is NOT how sex education is taught in schools (gay or straight). Just because someone has fabricated a preposterous script, it doesn’t make it truth. Use your heads, people. Media has a history of manipulating the weak-minded. Don’t be fooled by garbage on the internet. Do your own homework.

I am involved in research to see if homosexuality is an inherited genetic characteristic and overwhelming evidence is that it isn’t genetic, but lifestyle choice.
No gene has been found for homosexuality, and so I would agree with the film makers that care needs to be taken what is taught to children, as this is the sole source of homosexual tendencies.
Studies into the hypothalmus which have been discredited by many scientists are what homosexuals base their claim of genetic homosexuality.

agrazi77: [Joined YouTube on March 19 2007 and left three comments in this thread.]

There is this question of homosexual genetics… there are many scientists that have argued that homosexuality is something that you’re not born with… it’s an adopted behaviour.
There have been scientific studies on twins and ALL these twin studies have only shown that’s it’s the environment that influences homosexuality – NOT genetics.
Our educational system should not influence our children to adopt such behaviour.

Y are gays so scared? U’ve have always used abusive insults of all who don’t agree with your choices. NONE OF U WERE BORN GAY and your relentless lying about non-existent science doesn’t make it true. U’RE NOT DIFFERENT, U HAVE SIMPLY MADE DIFFERENT CHOICES ABOUT SEX. You got Sec.28 abolished so you could promote the gay lifestyle to children.
You lie, distort, and intimidate ordinary people but this nation has had enough.
Stop whining, try honesty and leave our children alone

Why do you guys keep saying Christians made this? It looks to me like this has been made by a bunch of concerned parents.

And don’t be stupid… this video is what MIGHT happen in schools and if teachers would which so, they can teach this. You ought to read the regulations better.

I’m gay, and quite happy to be one, but I think the government is perfectly capable of enforcing this kind of education. If you don’t believe that, go to the Daily Mail webpage and type in ‘Outcry over explicit sex education video shown to five-year-olds’

Already, they have recommended graphical homosexual literature in schools, from the age of 3. For example, the book ‘Strange Boy’ (if you want to see the pictures, go to ‘govrecommended’ – DOT – ‘phpnet’ -DOT- ‘us’)

One thing you will notice about many of the sock-puppet comments is the repeated suggestion that homosexuality and paedophilia go hand in hand, a message that is clearly reinforced at this CCTV web page…. but that last comment, featuring the glorious line – “I’m gay, and quite happy to be one” – is the kicker.

The Daily Mail article mentioned in that comment (fisked here) is easy enough to happen across:
Daily Mail – Outcry over explicit sex education video shown to five-year-olds

In fact, there just happens to be a mirror of this same article on the CCTV website.

This is not the only example of common ammunition; the CCTV website also features a mirror of an article about the book ‘Strange Boy’ and this book and another that is aimed at much younger readers (Daddy’s Roommate) are the primary items brought forward as evidence in this Sky News appearance by The CCTV.

(Please note how carefully these books are featured side-by-side. One might almost think that ‘Strange Boy’ – the book featuring “an inappropriate encounter in the woods between a 10-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy” – was the one pitched at 3-year-olds.)

Oh, and take a look at the URL ‘georgeleuridan’ is pushing right at the end – http://govrecommended.phpnet.us/

At the time of writing, that page was not visible in any of the major search databases. Or any of the small ones.

It is not a ‘found object’, but material that’s coming straight from the ‘Christians’ behind the original video.

(Note also the earlier sock-puppet urging web users to “do a search in Google for ‘gay liberation front manifesto'”… which also just happens to be featured at the CCTV website.)

With all of the above in mind, one might be forgiven for suspecting that The CCTV (or someone closely connected to them) was responsible for the What The Government Doesn’t Want You To Know video and/or that activists from that group promoted the video and the agenda behind it for the 3 short days it was live.

I’ve sent The CCTV an email to ask them outright about their role in this, and will let you know what they say (if, indeed, they have anything to say for themselves at all).

One thing is certain; the author(s) of this propaganda did not have the courage to address the issue in an open and honest fashion… instead they released grossly misleading and exploitative propaganda anonymously to promote their campaign and then sought to erase the evidence once the job was done.

UPDATE – This grubby piece of propaganda has now been removed… but you can download a copy of it here.
